About abc 29&8

When you're watching television, really good television, you forget it's only television. Millions cried when the last helicopter left the 4077th. One whole summer was devoted to figuring out who shot J.R. The day after Johnny Carson did his last show was totally different than the 30 years of days that had gone before.

Since abc 29&8 first went on the air in 1971, our goal has been to take advantage of the best that television has to offer. Our staff is dedicated to providing the greatest viewing experience to our audience, and the most results-driven service to our clients. That's why we air programming that entertains and informs, programming that can touch your heart and your mind.

Sure, television is only television, but it's also the national campfire, the place where everyone comes together to laugh and cry and learn. At abc 29&8 we are proud to be broadcasters, and proud to be part of the television industry. We are committed to keeping our own little piece of the campfire burning in Northern Michigan. So pull up a seat and join us. We'll bring the TV, all you have to bring is yourselves.

WGTU/WGTQ is owned by Tucker Broadcasting and provides Northern Michigan with ABC programming.
